Themed with “Plus Ultra: Beyond PB Limits”, the new season of “YS School Cultural Festival 2024” encourages young people to push their own limits in every opportunity and challenge, striving to achieve new personal best. This year, the “YS School Cultural Festival 2024” comprises the Summer and Winter edition, offering a multitude of diverse and enriching experiences to participants. During the summertime, Youth Square will ride on the wave of the Paris Olympics to bring thrilling basketball competitions and various sports experiences to the public. In the winter, young enthusiasts can gather at Youth Square to exchange their passions and insights for anime, cosplay and idol group performances with like-minded individuals.

“YS School Cultural Festival 2024” aims to provide dynamic platforms and opportunities for youngsters. We believe that their exploration of interests, pursuit of knowledge and skills, and curiosity about the world are boundless. Through different exchanges and professional guidance, young people can actively equip and strengthen themselves to face various challenges. Most importantly, they can break through their own limitations and achieve greater personal growth. The spirit of striving for higher and better achievements reflects the positive power of youngsters, serving as a driving force for innovation and instilling positive energy to the community.

【Summer Edition】 SWISH! YS Basketball Fest

Date: 22 Aug (Thursday) – 31 Aug (Saturday) 2024

Location: Youth Square (near Exit A, Chai Wan MTR station)

Admission Fee: Free

“SWISH! YS Basketball Fest” combines the elements of urban sports, music, dance, and arts to bring a series of basketball-themed activities to youngsters. The activities include 3 on 3 and 1 on 1 basketball competitions, basketball camp, crossfit challenge, and diverse Sports x Arts DIY workshops. Participants will learn various basketball skills while having the opportunities to exchange knowledge with friends from different places.

A special highlight of the event will be the Professional Player Showcase Session, scheduled for the afternoon of 25 August. Professional basketball players from MUST ELITE Macau Sport Club which had participated in the Super3 League, including Lu Bin and Xu Qiang, elite Chinese basketball players, are invited in the showcase matches with Hong Kong professional players. They will share their expertise and demonstrate their top-notch skills, deepening youths’ understanding on sports careers and promoting urban sports culture in Hong Kong.

In addition, cheerleading performance will be held to support athletes and showcase the passionate youth power and talent on stage, spreading positive energy to the community.

YS Summer Basketball Competition

Date: 24 & 25 August 2024 (Saturday & Sunday)

Competition Time: 9am - 7pm

YS Summer Basketball Competition consists of both "3 on 3 Basketball Competition" and "1 on 1 Basketball Competition". Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills and compete against skilled opponents on the court.

Professional basketball players from MUST ELITE Macau Sport Club which had participated in the Super3 League, including Lu Bin and Xu Qiang, elite Chinese basketball players, are invited in the showcase matches with Hong Kong professional players on 25 August.

YS Basketball Summer Camp

Date: 23 -25 August 2024 (Friday to Sunday)

The three-day, two-night basketball summer camp provides professional training from the professional basketball coach of MUST ELITE Macau Sport Club Milan Stevanovic who had coached professional basketball team in Serbia and won the league championship to enhance basketball skills of youths. Participants will also have opportunity to interact and exchange skills with professional basketball players.

YS CrossFit Challenge

Date: 22 - 31 August 2024 (Thursday to Saturday)

Participants can take on various fitness games and even join the "YS CrossFit Challenge Competition” which will be held on 25 August. They can strive to complete designated exercises within a specified time limit, and the participant with the highest total score will be crowned the champion.

Sports x Arts DIY Workshops

Date: 22 - 25 August 2024 (Thursday to Sunday)

Combining elements of music, dance, art, a series of workshops with sports as the theme will be provided. These workshops include basketball training workshops, screen printing basketball jersey DIY workshops, and sneaker DIY decoration workshop.
