Youth Square launches the first Youth Docent Ambassadors Programme with the aim of providing a series of thematic training, museum and themed exhibition visits and docent practice opportunities to deepen the understanding of young people in history, culture and docent profession. The programme aims to cultivate their interest in the field and promote knowledge exchange, further advancing the development of docent and cultural arts industries in Hong Kong.
Programme Highlights
The programme will provide practical training courses for youths, covering topics such as Chinese art history development and artifact appreciation, docent knowledge and public speaking skills. In addition to theoretical lectures, participants can also explore the history of Dunhuang through Dunhuang Academy, visit Hong Kong Palace Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Youth Square, observe those precious exhibits in person, and engage in on-site docent training and practice. Upon completion of the training, participants will have the opportunity to become Youth Docent Ambassadors and put their knowledge into practice.

*Activities will generally be held on weekends, school holidays and public holidays.
Programme Targets
Youths who currently enrolled in full-time local secondary schools and local tertiary institutions (including associate degree, bachelor’s degree and postgraduate programme, regardless of academic disciplines), interested in history, culture, art and docent industry are welcomed to join.
Participants must be youths aged between 15 to 29, holding valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card, with good communication skill and being proactive and committed to participating in and completing the programme.

Fees and Deposit
The programme is free of charge. Successful participants are required to pay a HKD500 deposit. A full refund of deposit will be made after the completion of the programme and fulfilling all the programme requirements and passing all the assessments.
Important Notes
- Applicants need to apply through schools or complete the online registration form to complete the application.
- The programme will be conducted mainly in Cantonese, with some courses in Mandarin.
- Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the programme.
- Programme will be recorded for event promotion and reference purpose. The organiser will own the copyright of all recorded photos and videos.
- Participants must hold a valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card and/or related student identification documents. The organiser reserves the right to verify and request relevant documents from applicants.
- The programme is with limited quota, application will not be accepted once quota is exhausted. Subject to confirmation email.
- The organiser reserves the right to alter the details of the programme. Should there be any disputes, the organizers reserve the rights of final decision.
