Since 2016, Youth Square has launched a series of Dunhuang activities. In 2018, the first "Dunhuang Youth Internship Program" was held to enable young people from Hong Kong to learn from experts and scholars from the Dunhuang Academy, to walk into the caves and gain an in-depth understanding of the development of Dunhuang.

This year, the "Dunhuang Youth Internship Program 2019" continued to receive Home Affairs Bureau and the Dunhuang Academy’s support to host a new internship program. The program will recruit 16 young people for a six-week training and internship.
