Growing up, Davy struggled with his academic studies in Taiwan. Surrounded by the idea that "you are nobody unless you become like the perfect kid next door," he was consumed by the darkness of a low self-esteem. It was not until he met his art teacher who discovered his talent and encouraged him to draw, he started to win awards on the national level. And then he became the first batch of Asian to join Disney Feature Animation and where he is renowned for works he completed, including 'The Lion King', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Aladdin' and 'Mulan' etc. Davy used to believe he was a useless marble and now reminded that everyone can be a diamond.

About Speaker:

Davy Liu’s passion for art was instilled in him since his childhood. Immigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of 13, Davy later became the first Chinese art director of Disney, who involved in the creation of many animated movies including "The Lion King", "Mulan", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Aladdin". He was also invited by George Lucas to join the "Star Wars" creative team, and to draw illustrations for media such as "Time Magazine" and "Wall Street Journal".
