Love music, Love our environment more!

 

Many music lovers are fascinated by the special texture of vinyl, but vinyl records will be easily damaged and turned into plastic garbage.

 

In this Christmas, Youth Square X hmv will create an upcycling art installation with vinyl records, and it will exhibit at Youth Square during Christmas. During this period, We cordially invite you to donate Christmas gifts. All collected gifts will be donated to designated NGOs and charities organizations after this festival, to spread the warmth to grassroots.

 

Vinyl Records Upcycling Art Installation
Christmas is a festival which consist love and sharing. Youth Square will create a Christmas tree with vinyl records, to arouse public attention towards environment.

Gift Collection and Donation
During the exhibition period of Vinyl Record Christmas Tree, Youth Square cordially invites you to donate unused which you received during Christmas and New Year. Youth Square will arrange gift donations to different beneficiary organizations, to spread the love and care to the needy.

Notes on Gift Collection*:
1. Gifts are required to be packed properly .
2. Only accept the gifts which are within the volume of 50 cm x 50cm x 50cm. 
3. Furniture, food, medicine, health supplement, unclean or damaged items, books with contents of violence, pornography are unacceptable.
*Youth Square reserves the right to make the final decision.

 

Vinyl Records Collection

From 25 Oct to 21 Nov, vinyl records collection boxes were available in Youth Square and hmv branches, to encourage public to donate damaged or useless vinyl records to us. Our curator Mr. Hammers will turn your vinyl records into an art installation, and will exhibit at Youth Square during Christmas.

Workshop: In the use of damaged vinyl records, we can make them into useful products with creative ideas, such us as wall clock, as penholder and fruit plate. The participants can also paint on the products with unique patterns.



Curator:
Stefan Chui, founder of Mr. Hammers, has been in touch with architecture in many different ways ever since. In 2014, Mr. Hammers was founded and started off producing products using an unique yet humble material that is concrete. With the use of concrete, Mr. Hammers products hopes to promote a message that “No Finishing is a Finishing”.
